If the focus of content development for you is to promote a product or business, remember that subtlety is the key. People reading your articles should feel that your primary objective is to share information with them. The best way to promote your business is to embed a link to your website in your primary keyword (provided that is the keyword you want to get your business site ranked for).
Write short 3-4 line paragraphs, this will make your article easier to read. If you are writing a longer piece (500 words or more) ensure that you make frequent use of bullet points and subheads.
